Font Inspector ("the extension") is built to be private by default. This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your data.
The font inspection itself collects nothing. All font and style analysis runs entirely on your device, inside your browser. The fonts, styles and page content the extension reads are shown only to you and never leave your computer — they are not logged, transmitted, sold, or shared. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party trackers.
The only personal data we collect is optional and entirely voluntary: if you choose to join the waitlist for the upcoming Pro version, we collect the email address you submit (see below).
Joining the waitlist is optional. If you enter your email address to join, that email is sent to our own private Google Sheet (via a Google Apps Script endpoint) so we can notify you when the Pro version launches and send the early-supporter discount. We use this email only for that purpose. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising or any unrelated purpose. Your email is also kept locally in your browser so the prompt isn't shown to you again. You can ask us to delete your email at any time using the contact below.
If you upgrade to Pro, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider (such as Paddle or a comparable merchant of record). We never see or store your card details. Only a local activation flag is kept in your browser's storage to unlock Pro features. Please refer to the payment provider's own privacy policy for how they handle payment information.
We do not sell or share your data, and we never use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. The only personal data we hold is waitlist emails (if you chose to provide one), stored in our private Google Sheet and used solely to contact you about the Pro version.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version on this page.
